Action Planning Development Process
Following the approval of the SC Roadmap Common Agenda Goal, Pathways, and Strategies in the fall of 2025, the Action Development Process was launched to identify and prioritize actions that could move the work from planning to implementation. The process was designed to ensure that priorities were shaped collaboratively, informed by community perspectives, and refined through shared decision-making.
Five Think Tanks were convened, each aligned with one of the SC Roadmap Pathways. Subject matter experts from across sectors were recruited to participate in the Think Tanks and contribute their knowledge, experience, and perspectives related to improving nonmedical factors impacting health in South Carolina. Through facilitated discussions, the Think Tanks generated ideas and identified potential priority actions based on expertise, community input, and statewide needs.
These ideas were then reviewed and refined by the Leads Group to ensure alignment with the SC Roadmap’s overall direction and long-term goals. The Governance Council and Community Voice Advisory Board provided feedback and guidance to help ensure that proposed actions reflected both system-level priorities and the lived experiences of communities across South Carolina. After incorporating this input, the Leads finalized the selected actions and developed implementation plans to guide next steps and continued collaboration.
