Action Five

Why This Matters

Additional infrastructure is needed to ensure that food distribution and food insecurity mitigation strategies are efficient and effective during emergency situations where need is exacerbated.

Purpose

Create a scalable process for local communities to develop technology and infrastructure resources and a response plan for food security emergencies (ex. natural disaster, freeze/loss of federal funds) to mitigate food insecurity.

  • Objective 5.1: Develop an implementation guide and scalable model for local communities across SC to build an emergency response system/workflow technology for emergency food distribution (focus on technology and infrastructure)

Activity 5.1.1: Develop Guide and Scalable Model

Activity 5.1.2: Develop Marketing and Dissemination Plan

    Activity 5.1.3: Implement Dissemination Plan

  • Objective 5.2: Provide yearlong training intensive/Learning Collaborative, including in-depth training and technical support for communities developing/implementing local plan (i.e., scale model)

Activity 5.2.1: Host 12-month Training Intensive (Learning Collaborative)
