Action Four

Why This Matters

There is a critical need to fill a gap in understanding by creating opportunities to educate and inform policymakers and community leaders on nonmedical factors of health, enabling more equitable, informed decision-making and policies that address the root causes of community well-being.

Purpose

To explore opportunities to educate community leaders and policymakers about policy approaches that address nonmedical factors of health (food, housing, and/or transportation).

  • Objective 4.1: Explore the housing and transportation policy landscapes in South Carolina to determine how to prioritize a focus area.

    Activity 4.1.1: Explore the landscape

Activity 4.1.2: Develop and coordinate opportunities for alignment with the South Carolina Food Insecurity Risk Map (FIRM)

Activity 4.1.3: Develop a plan for collaborating with community coalitions, community leaders, and local and state policymakers to deliver training and education on policies that address nonmedical factors of health
